2008 Breeding Contract

The Mare owner hereby agrees to breed their mare _______________________, Registration Number _________________, DOB ___________, to Dashing Chester – 2001 Bay Stallion represented by his owner, Becky Canaday. The Stallion stands at 2506 SW Fulton Road, Towanda, KS 67144. Breeding Phone 316-204-5360.

The Stallion service fee is $1000 (includes $150 booking fee due with the contract) A copy of the mare’s registration papers, both sides, must be furnished with this contract. Mares brought to Towanda, KS for breeding will be kept separate from other mares. Mares should be vetted for reproduction prior to arrival. Mare care is $9 per day.

The mare owner represents that the mare is in sound breeding condition free from disease or infection. The mare owner accepts responsibility for the conception – after multiple attempts to settle the mare a negative uterine culture, cytology or biopsy will be requested.

The mare owner is guaranteed on “live foal” – the foal stands and nurses without assistance. A written certificate from a licensed veterinarian shall serve as notification should the mare be barren, aborts or the foal is stillborn. The certificate should be received within one week of the date that the mare aborted or produced a stillborn foal. A return season will be given the following year only.

This contract is non-assignable and non-transferable. Should the above named Stallion die, be sold by the owner, or become unable for service prior to settling the Mare, this contract will become null and void. In the event that the stallion is unfit to rebreed, the stud fee will be refunded less the booking fee. In the event the mare fails to settle, the mare owner may substitute another mare agreed upon by the stallion owner.
